In many Everett cases, the question people really mean is: what will the insurance companies do next, and how long will it take?
After a fatal collision—on routes like heavily traveled arterial roads, highway ramps, or areas where visibility changes quickly—insurers often start with a conservative review. They may also dispute parts of the story early (fault, timing, medical causation, or the extent of losses). That means a generic online “payout range” can be misleading.
Instead of treating a calculator like a forecast, use it as a starting point to organize questions for counsel:
- What categories of loss are strongest in Washington?
- What evidence do we need to support them?
- What factors could lower or increase settlement leverage?
