Many calculators use broad inputs (age, income, dependents) to generate a rough range. That can be helpful for general planning, but it often misses what drives real settlement value—things like:
- How fault is likely to be argued when multiple parties (drivers, employers, property owners, contractors, or maintenance vendors) share responsibility.
- How causation gets proven when medical decisions, delays in treatment, or complications become part of the dispute.
- Whether losses are documented—funeral costs, lost household services, and the financial support the deceased likely would have provided.
- Insurance limits and coverage structure common to motor vehicle and workplace-related claims.
In other words, the “math” is only as reliable as the underlying proof.
