Online tools typically rely on broad inputs (age, income, dependents) and then apply a formula. In real cases, settlement value is heavily shaped by details that don’t fit neatly into a website form—especially in a coastal community where accidents may involve:
- High-traffic corridors and commuting patterns (hard braking, lane changes, distracted driving, intersection disputes)
- Truck and industrial traffic connected to the working waterfront and regional commerce
- Weather and visibility factors that may be argued differently by each side
- Worksite conditions where safety procedures, training, and equipment maintenance become central
A calculator can’t measure the strength of liability evidence, the credibility of witnesses, or whether the defense will challenge causation. Those are the things that often determine whether a claim moves quickly toward resolution or becomes a hard-fought dispute.
