Most calculators estimate damages using simple inputs like age and income. That can be a starting point, but it rarely captures what matters most in real wrongful death claims in Georgia:
- Georgia’s approach to comparative fault (if the decedent or another party is found partly responsible, recovery may be reduced).
- Causation disputes—especially when insurers argue an underlying condition, medication issue, or intervening event contributed to death.
- Documentation quality—funeral bills, wage records, medical timelines, and proof of the relationship and support the deceased provided.
- Insurance limits and coverage structure—a seemingly “high” case may be constrained by policy limits.
In other words, a calculator can’t measure how convincingly the evidence supports liability and damages.
