Most online calculators use broad inputs and assumptions. They can’t account for the issues that commonly determine whether a claim settles strongly or stalls, such as:
- How fault is assigned when multiple parties may have contributed (driver distraction, vehicle condition, roadway issues, or supervision failures)
- Whether the death was medically caused by the incident (a key point when there’s a delay between injury and passing)
- What documentation exists—police reports, photos, witness statements, employment records, and medical charts
- Insurance limits and how coverage applies under California law
Even if two families enter the same basic “age and income” numbers, the results can diverge dramatically once evidence and causation are analyzed.
