Online tools usually ask for broad inputs like age and income. In real wrongful death cases, value is driven more by issues such as:
- How liability is proven (who was negligent, what rules were violated, and what the investigation shows)
- Whether causation is disputed (especially in medical and “pre-existing condition” cases)
- What documents exist (medical records, witness statements, maintenance logs, and crash documentation)
- How California’s comparative fault affects recovery when fault is shared
In other words: a spreadsheet can’t see the dashcam footage, review the medical timeline, or evaluate how the defense will argue fault.
