Most calculators ask for a few numbers (age, income, dependents) and produce a rough range. In real Lake Forest cases, two claims can involve similar losses yet settle very differently because:
- Liability can be disputed even when the crash seems obvious (shared fault, distraction, lane position, signage/markings, or vehicle-related issues).
- Causation may be challenged—for example, when the defense argues the death resulted from a pre-existing condition rather than the incident.
- Insurance limits and coverage structure determine what’s realistically available to pay.
- Documentation varies: the same family may have different proof of earnings, support, funeral costs, and relationship impact.
A calculator can’t properly account for those factors—only a legal evaluation grounded in the incident facts can.
