Most online calculators try to approximate parts of a claim—like wage replacement and medical-related costs—using assumptions about injury severity, work restrictions, and time away from work. That can be useful when you’re trying to understand the range of outcomes.
But calculators typically can’t see the details that make or break a Washington workers’ comp matter, such as:
- whether your employer reported the injury consistently with your account
- whether your medical records clearly connect the condition to the work event
- whether you reached medical stability (or are still in the middle of treatment)
- how your restrictions affect what you can realistically do after recovery
In other words: a calculator may help you ask better questions, but it shouldn’t be treated like a promise of what you’ll receive.
