Many online tools are built for generic cases. In Donna, the details that often change the value of a claim include:
- How your injury happened (reported immediately vs. delayed reporting after a commute or shift change)
- Whether your medical records match the work timeline (symptoms that began after a specific task)
- Whether you can return to the job you had (and whether the restrictions are realistic for the type of work you do)
- Whether the insurer disputes causation—especially when there are gaps between the incident and treatment
A calculator can’t see your incident report, your treatment notes, or what an adjuster might argue when reviewing documentation. That’s why the goal shouldn’t be “find the exact settlement check”—it should be “identify the factors that move the value up or down in my situation.”
