Many online tools assume every claim has the same foundation. In Tennessee, that’s rarely true. Before you plug in numbers, confirm you have these basics covered:
- You reported the injury promptly (and to the right person). Delay can create credibility problems.
- Your medical records connect symptoms to the work event—not just “pain in general.”
- Your wage information matches reality (regular pay vs. shift premiums, overtime, or bonuses where applicable).
- You have a documented work status (restrictions, ability to return, or why you can’t).
If any of those pieces are missing, a calculator may produce a number that’s too low—or too high—to be useful.
