A calculator usually estimates outcomes using assumptions: your wage rate, the injury type, and whether there’s impairment or ongoing care. Those inputs can be useful for asking, “Is this in the ballpark?”
In practice, two people can enter the same injury description online and still end up with different outcomes because:
- The medical notes don’t match the timeline of your symptoms.
- The work connection is supported strongly—or questioned.
- Your restrictions are clearly explained—or vague.
- The insurer already paid benefits for some periods, affecting what’s left to negotiate.
Online tools also can’t see what the adjuster sees: the claim file, the treatment consistency, and the evidence credibility.
