Online tools typically estimate a range using broad assumptions about wage loss, treatment costs, and permanency. That may be useful in theory, but in practice, Lancaster claims can turn on factors such as:
- How quickly you were examined after the incident (and whether early records match your later medical history)
- Whether your job duties involved repetitive motion, lifting, or awkward positions—common in industrial and warehouse environments
- Whether your restrictions were documented in a way employers and insurers could evaluate
- Whether you returned to work in any capacity (and what accommodations were or weren’t available)
If the calculator doesn’t align with your wage basis, your injury type, or your medical documentation, the estimate can drift far from what a claim evaluation actually looks like.
