Most online calculators estimate a range based on broad assumptions—like wage loss, medical treatment, and the possibility of long-term restrictions. Those inputs can be useful as a starting point.
But calculators often miss the details that matter most in Maryland workers’ compensation disputes, such as:
- Whether the injury was reported and documented promptly
- Whether medical records clearly connect the condition to your job duties
- How your temporary restrictions affected your ability to work (especially if your job involves lifting, bending, or standing for long stretches)
- Whether you’ve reached maximum medical improvement (when future recovery and permanency can be assessed more accurately)
In other words: a calculator may give you a number, but it can’t confirm whether your claim file supports that number.
