Online tools may estimate a range based on assumptions like wage level, injury type, and time away from work. But an estimate is not the same as a settlement value under Illinois workers’ compensation practice.
In Illinois, insurers and employers often focus on whether:
- the injury was reported and documented promptly after the incident
- medical records support that your condition was caused or aggravated by work
- your restrictions match what doctors say you can safely do
- wage calculations reflect your actual earning history and work status
A calculator can’t reliably account for those proof points—especially when symptoms are delayed or the injury involves repetitive strain that can be harder to connect to a specific job activity.
