A calculator is most useful early as a planning tool—for example, to understand which factors may affect payout discussions (medical treatment, time away from work, and long-term limitations).
However, don’t treat an estimate as a promise. In Florida workers’ compensation matters, the “value” discussed in negotiations is shaped by what’s documented in your claim file and medical records—not by generic assumptions. If your condition is still changing, your doctor hasn’t assigned restrictions yet, or your medical causation is being questioned, a calculator number can be misleading.
A practical rule: if you’re still waiting on diagnostic results, a medical stabilization point, or work restrictions, you’re not far enough along for an online estimate to reflect your actual position.
