Many online tools are built around generic scenarios. Durango’s workforce—and how injuries show up—often doesn’t match those templates.
For example:
- Construction and industrial jobs may involve aggravations that develop over days or weeks, not instantly.
- Tourism-adjacent employers (lodging, outdoor recreation, hospitality) can involve fast-paced schedules and shifting duties, which can complicate documentation of restrictions.
- Commuting and weather can affect reporting and treatment timing. If you delay care because you’re trying to keep working through rough conditions, the insurer may later argue the injury is less credible.
A calculator can’t account for how quickly you reported, how consistently you treated, or whether your medical provider connected your symptoms to the job duties you actually performed.
