Most online tools estimate settlement value by using broad assumptions. That can be useful for getting a rough range, but it can’t replace what matters in a California workers’ compensation claim record, such as:
- Whether the injury is supported by medical causation (work-related diagnosis)
- How quickly treatment started and whether the timeline is consistent
- What restrictions were documented and when they changed
- Whether there’s a documented need for future care
- The type of benefits already paid (wage replacement, medical, etc.)
In other words, the calculator is a starting point—not a verdict. In California, the evaluation process is evidence-driven, so two people with similar symptoms can end up with very different outcomes.
