A settlement calculator can be a planning tool. It may help you organize likely categories of damages—such as medical bills, lost wages, and out-of-pocket expenses—so you can see what information you still need.
But in commercial trucking cases, the number is rarely “final math.” In practice, value depends on:
- How fault is disputed (drivers, trucking companies, sometimes other parties)
- Whether injuries are supported by objective medical evidence
- Policy limits and available insurance/coverage
- How quickly and thoroughly evidence was preserved
If you use a calculator, treat it like a starting point for gathering documents—not a substitute for a case review.
