Most calculators do two useful things:
- help you list economic losses (medical expenses, lost wages, out-of-pocket costs)
- suggest ranges for non-economic losses (pain, limitations, loss of enjoyment of life)
But a calculator is not case law, and it can’t see the evidence that insurers and defense attorneys focus on—especially in commercial cases where documentation matters.
In practice, the settlement value often turns on:
- how quickly you sought treatment after the crash
- whether your medical records clearly connect your injuries to the collision
- whether the truck company’s records support (or undermine) your version of events
Online tools can guide your questions. They can’t replace a case-specific review.
