Online calculators are useful for one thing: building a quick estimate of categories of damages (medical bills, lost wages, and certain out-of-pocket costs). But they can’t account for the factors that most often decide outcomes in real trucking claims—especially in New Jersey.
In practice, adjusters and attorneys look closely at:
- What your medical records show about diagnosis and causation
- Whether your injuries are documented and consistent over time
- Which party is responsible (driver, trucking company, maintenance provider, shipper/loader)
- Available insurance/policy coverage
So treat calculator results as a starting point—not a prediction.
