After a crash involving a tractor-trailer, box truck, or other commercial vehicle, insurers may move quickly with paperwork and lowball settlement offers. A calculator can’t evaluate:
- Whether your injuries match the crash mechanics (and whether your records are consistent)
- Whether multiple parties share responsibility (driver, employer, maintenance vendor, cargo/shipper)
- How California comparative fault rules may reduce payout if you’re alleged to have contributed
- Whether key evidence is still obtainable (logs, maintenance history, event data)
In other words, a tool may feel practical—but if it’s missing the facts that matter most in real negotiations, it can give you false reassurance.
