Most online tools estimate value using general variables—hospital time, diagnosis codes, and treatment length. But real settlement discussions in Pennsylvania tend to focus on three things:
- Proof of the mechanism: how the head trauma happened (vehicle impact, fall, struck-by incident, etc.).
- Proof of functional impact: how the injury changed daily life—work restrictions, missed shifts, inability to sustain attention, need for supervision, or therapy requirements.
- Proof of continuity: whether symptoms and treatment stayed consistent from the early days of recovery.
A concussion or more serious TBI can be hard to “see,” especially when imaging doesn’t show dramatic findings. That’s why treating clinicians’ notes—symptoms, exam results, restrictions, and progress (or lack of it)—carry significant weight.
