Most online tools guess based on a few inputs (hospital time, diagnosis labels, and whether a person missed work). That’s helpful for budgeting—but it often fails to capture the parts of a TBI claim that change outcomes:
- Functional impact: headaches, dizziness, memory gaps, trouble multitasking, and mood changes may not show up on an X-ray.
- Consistency of reporting: adjusters look for whether symptoms were documented promptly and repeatedly.
- Treatment follow-through: gaps can be used against you, even when they’re caused by scheduling delays or affordability.
- Causation arguments: in Oklahoma claims, the defense may argue symptoms were caused by something else (a prior injury, a different incident, or unrelated health issues).
In other words, the “number” is downstream of proof. A good demand is built from proof—not from assumptions.
