Most online calculators are built on simplified assumptions: a general injury severity, a generic treatment timeline, and a broad estimate of missed work. In real life, especially after an injury tied to commutes, construction zones, or higher-speed collisions, the key variables are more specific:
- Did you receive prompt medical evaluation after the head impact?
- Do your records consistently describe symptoms like headaches, dizziness, memory problems, sleep disruption, or mood changes?
- Is there documentation of functional limits—work restrictions, driving limits, cognitive therapy, or daily living impacts?
- Are there disputes about fault, causation, or whether symptoms were “pre-existing”?
A calculator can be useful to frame questions. It’s not a substitute for a case review that matches Indiana evidence and insurance negotiation realities.
