Unlike some injuries where objective findings are obvious right away, traumatic brain injuries can involve symptoms that fluctuate: headaches, dizziness, memory gaps, sleep disruption, irritability, concentration problems, and difficulty returning to work.
That means many online tools can’t properly account for:
- how long symptoms persisted after the initial visit
- whether follow-up care in the weeks after the incident is documented
- whether your day-to-day limitations affected school, work, or caregiving
- whether liability is disputed (which is common when the crash or incident details are contested)
In practice, adjusters look for proof that the injury is real, consistent, and tied to the incident—not simply a diagnosis written once and forgotten. That’s why a “range” from a calculator may feel encouraging but still fall short of what a well-supported claim can pursue.
