Most online tools work like a simplified model: injury severity + time + treatment = an estimated settlement range. But real TBI claims are rarely that tidy.
In Alaska, adjusters commonly scrutinize:
- Whether the head injury was promptly evaluated (and whether symptoms were documented early)
- Whether the treatment plan was followed despite obstacles (transportation, scheduling, distance to providers)
- Whether the symptoms match the mechanism (what happened in the crash or incident)
- Whether the case is consistent over time—from the initial report to later medical notes
A calculator won’t know if you were dealing with commuting delays, missed appointments due to winter conditions, or gaps created by access to specialty care. A lawyer can.
