If you suspect toxic exposure, don’t delay getting medical attention while you try to “figure it out.” In many cases, symptoms appear gradually or are initially misattributed to allergies, stress, or infections.
Seek prompt care and be ready to explain:
- where you were when symptoms began (home, jobsite, school, or a community location)
- what you were around (odors, fumes, dust, cleaning chemicals, flooring/paint work, pesticides, mold, etc.)
- whether others noticed similar conditions
While Oregon doesn’t require a specific “magic phrase” before you talk to a lawyer, early documentation can make a difference. The more clearly your medical providers and investigators can track timing, the stronger your claim tends to be.
