Settlement value in the real world tends to rise or fall based on a few proof-heavy elements—especially in auto cases:
- Causation tied to crash mechanics (how the vehicle impact could plausibly cause the spinal injury)
- Documented neurological findings (imaging, ER findings, specialist notes, functional assessments)
- A treatment timeline that doesn’t “jump” (symptoms reported consistently, care followed as recommended)
- Liability evidence that matches the story (police reports, witness accounts, crash data when available)
- Future care documentation (rehab plan, durable medical equipment, anticipated complications)
If any of those pieces are missing or weak, a calculator—even if it gives you a range—may not reflect what you can actually prove.
