Most online spinal cord injury settlement calculators are built on averages. Your settlement value, however, depends heavily on evidence quality and how your injury affects your ability to function day-to-day.
Before you rely on a calculator output, ask yourself:
- Was liability clearly documented early? In Ohio, insurance companies frequently focus on gaps in the story—especially when there’s a delay between the incident and the first objective medical findings.
- Do you have a medical timeline that connects the incident to neurological symptoms? For spinal cases, “it got worse later” must still be supported by records.
- Are your long-term needs already showing up in treatment plans? Some injuries require assistive devices, home modifications, or ongoing therapy—costs that generic tools often understate.
A calculator can be a starting point for budgeting. It shouldn’t be treated as a promise.
