Online tools often present a “range” based on a few inputs. That can be a starting point, but settlement value is driven by details that calculators usually miss—especially in cases involving serious spinal trauma.
In practice, insurers care about:
- How the injury matches the mechanism (what happened and how it likely caused the spinal damage)
- Whether treatment was prompt and consistent (ER records, imaging, specialist follow-ups)
- What functional limits are documented (work restrictions, daily-living impacts, mobility needs)
- Whether liability is contested—which is common when reports are incomplete or fault is disputed
A calculator can’t verify those points. A legal team can.
