Most online tools work like budgeting worksheets: they ask for injury category, age, hospital stay length, and other inputs, then generate a rough range.
That can be useful if you’re trying to answer: “What kinds of damages might be in play?” But a calculator usually can’t see the details that insurers in MS focus on, such as:
- Whether imaging and neurological findings match the incident timeline
- How clearly the medical record supports causation (what caused what)
- Whether you have complications that changed the care plan
- The difference between temporary limitations and long-term impairment
In catastrophic cases, two people can enter the same ER within days of each other and still have very different settlement outcomes—because the evidence tells different stories.
