Many settlement tools assume patterns that don’t match what we see in serious spine cases—especially injuries that evolve after the initial ER visit.
In the real world, the value often rises or falls based on:
- Whether early imaging and neurologic findings match the claimed mechanism of injury
- How quickly treatment began after the incident and whether follow-up was consistent
- Whether complications appeared later (common after severe spinal injuries)
- How your daily living needs changed—not just for weeks, but for months and years
If a calculator doesn’t reflect those realities, it may understate (or occasionally overstate) what a settlement should realistically cover.
