Most online calculators produce a range based on assumptions (injury severity, treatment length, lost wages, and so on). That can be a useful starting point, especially if you need to plan for the months ahead.
But for spinal cord injury cases, the settlement number often hinges on whether the record shows three things clearly:
- Causation — the incident triggered or worsened the condition, supported by consistent medical documentation.
- Severity and prognosis — what doctors observed (neurological findings, imaging, functional limitations) and what they expect next.
- Damages proof — bills, lost income, care needs, and documented life impacts.
A calculator can’t “see” whether your medical timeline is tight, whether follow-up was consistent, or whether defense counsel will dispute the link between the incident and your current symptoms.
