Online tools usually assume averages. Real cases are different—especially when insurers try to narrow the story.
In Newman and throughout California, adjusters commonly focus on:
- Whether the injury mechanism fits the medical findings (did the incident plausibly cause the level of spinal damage?)
- Whether symptoms were documented promptly and consistently
- Whether later deterioration is tied to the original injury (or blamed on something else)
- Whether future care estimates match the treating plan—not just what happened immediately after the accident
That’s why an estimate shouldn’t be treated like a promise. It’s better to use it to understand which documents and categories of loss you’ll need to prove.
