Most calculators are built on broad averages. In Washington, however, settlement value is strongly influenced by how the insurer frames:
- Liability and comparative fault (Washington applies comparative negligence, so fault can reduce recovery)
- Documented causation (whether medical records clearly connect your injuries to the crash)
- Treatment consistency (gaps can trigger disputes about severity)
- Policy limits and coverage availability (what the insurer can actually pay)
So while a tool may generate a “likely range,” it can’t see what your medical records show, whether the crash report accurately reflects the event, or whether the other driver’s version will be challenged.
