Even when two riders have “similar” injuries, settlement outcomes can diverge because insurers evaluate more than the injury label. In the real world, the value of a claim tends to shift based on:
- Traffic and intersection evidence (who had the right-of-way, lane position, turn signals, and timing)
- Seasonal conditions common in Northern Utah (glare, wet pavement, snow/ice residue, and reduced visibility)
- Documentation gaps after the crash (missed follow-ups, delayed reporting, incomplete symptom tracking)
- Comparative fault arguments (for example, the other side claiming the rider was speeding, following too closely, or lane-splitting improperly)
A calculator can’t see those factors. It can only reflect the assumptions you enter.
