Most calculators are built on general assumptions. Your case isn’t average if the crash involved:
- High-speed commuting traffic and sudden braking or lane changes
- Visibility issues common in fast-moving traffic (sun angle at certain hours, glare, heavy evening volume)
- Conflicting witness accounts—especially when a rider and a driver each remember the moment differently
- Disputed causation (for example, insurers arguing the injury wasn’t caused by the crash or wasn’t severe at first)
In other words, the “number” depends less on the calculator and more on whether your evidence can support each category of loss.
