In suburban Houston-area traffic, crashes can be “brief but intense.” A motorcyclist may have seconds to react—especially near multi-lane merges, highway feeder roads, and areas with frequent construction detours. When that happens, insurers commonly argue over:
- Who entered the lane first and whether the driver used adequate signaling
- Whether braking/visibility was reasonable under the roadway conditions
- How fast the motorcycle was traveling based on limited physical evidence
That’s why early documentation matters so much. Photos can capture debris position, lane markings, and vehicle placement before the scene changes. Witnesses can be harder to reach later when everyone has returned to work or home.
If you’re using a calculator, treat it as a starting range—not a forecast—because the “real” value depends on what can be proven.
