A calculator is best used as a planning tool—to estimate ranges and to identify what information you’ll need before you can reasonably evaluate an offer.
But it can mislead if:
- Your crash involves disputed fault (common when drivers and riders describe the scene differently).
- Your injury symptoms took time to fully appear (Texas insurers often scrutinize timing).
- Your treatment changed due to access or delays (which can create arguments about causation).
- There’s uncertainty about insurance coverage or policy limits.
In other words, the calculator can’t read the police report, interpret medical causation, or predict negotiation. It can only reflect the assumptions you enter.
