After a crash, insurers frequently start with a low number—especially when:
- your medical treatment is still starting or “in progress”
- you haven’t yet reached maximum medical improvement
- fault is being contested (for example, how an intersection was approached)
- there’s a gap between the crash date and the first detailed documentation of injury symptoms
In a place where many riders use their motorcycles for daily travel and errands, you may also have unique evidence challenges. You might not have dash footage, you may be familiar with the road (which can make your statement sound “certain” even if you’re still processing what happened), or witnesses may be commuters who are hard to track down.
That’s why a calculator should be viewed as a planning tool, not a promise.
