Most calculators work from general injury-cost assumptions. That’s helpful for planning, but it’s not the same as what an adjuster will pay in a specific Clawson case.
In Michigan, settlement value is strongly influenced by:
- Fault evidence (right-of-way, lane/turn signals, traffic control)
- Medical proof (diagnoses, imaging, follow-up treatment)
- Causation (whether the injury is tied to the crash, not something else)
- Policy limits and coverage (what the insurer can actually pay)
- Comparative fault arguments (even partial blame can reduce recovery)
So, a tool can be a starting point—but it can’t review police reports, witness statements, imaging, or the way your injuries progressed after the crash.
