Most online calculators work off averages. That can be useful early on, but it often misses the local realities that change settlements:
- Mountain driving and reduced sight distance: crashes tied to curves, grades, glare, or poor visibility may hinge on timing and what drivers could reasonably see.
- Tourist and seasonal traffic patterns: out-of-area drivers and unfamiliar routes can create contested fault, especially in higher-traffic corridors.
- Roadway conditions: debris, wet pavement, and changing weather can complicate causation.
- Injury documentation timing: insurers frequently look for whether treatment began promptly and whether early symptoms were consistent with later diagnoses.
In other words, a calculator might suggest a range—but your actual value depends on evidence that supports liability and damages.
