Online calculators often work by taking broad inputs—injury type, treatment duration, and income loss—and producing an estimate range. That can be a helpful starting point when you’re trying to set expectations.
However, California claims are frequently shaped by evidence quality and documentation. Two crashes that look similar on the road can result in very different outcomes depending on:
- whether the injury is supported by imaging, exam findings, and consistent follow-up
- whether treatment was timely and medically reasonable
- whether fault is disputed (for example, turn/merge issues at busy intersections)
- whether the other party’s insurance challenges causation
A calculator may point you in the right direction, but it can’t replace a case evaluation grounded in your records.
