Most calculators build ranges using broad assumptions—like how serious an injury is or whether treatment was short-term or long-term. That can provide a starting point, but it often misses what Texas courts and insurers focus on:
- Causation proof (showing the negligence caused the specific harm)
- Medical record consistency (charts, imaging, lab results, and follow-up notes)
- Expert review (what a competent provider would have done differently)
- Pre-existing conditions and alternative explanations
In practice, two people can enter the same type of calculator with similar symptoms and end up with very different results once the record review and expert opinions are considered.
