Most online calculators apply simplified assumptions to complex cases. That can be useful for planning questions, but it can’t account for the facts that actually move settlement discussions forward, such as:
- whether the provider’s actions fell below the applicable Texas standard of care
- whether medical records clearly show causation (the negligence caused the specific injury)
- how well future treatment needs are supported by documentation
- whether your case involves disputes about pre-existing conditions or progression of illness
In other words: the calculator may estimate damages categories, but Texas claims still turn on proof.
