Many calculators assume the same “value drivers” for every case. That’s rarely accurate. In Texas, settlement discussions are strongly shaped by:
- Causation (whether the negligence actually caused the harm)
- Medical documentation quality (what’s recorded—and what isn’t)
- Expert review of standard of care and medical causation
- The timeline of symptoms, treatment, and follow-up
A tool may ask for injury severity or rough medical costs, but it can’t review the records that insurers and defense attorneys focus on. In practice, the difference between “something went wrong” and “something was legally negligent” can be decisive for settlement value.
