Most calculators are built around generic categories—like injury severity or estimated losses. But in real cases, the numbers hinge on details that calculators can’t reliably access, such as:
- Which provider made the decision that allegedly fell below the standard of care
- Whether records connect the mistake to the harm (causation)
- Whether follow-up care changed the course of treatment—common when patients bounce between facilities
- How Texas juries and insurance carriers view credibility based on the timeline and documentation
So while a calculator might give a starting range, it shouldn’t be treated as a prediction of what you’ll receive.
