Most online calculators are built for broad scenarios. They can be a starting point, but they usually can’t account for the proof problems that decide whether a case settles.
In practice, Tennessee malpractice disputes often turn on:
- whether the care fell below the Tennessee standard of care for the provider involved
- whether the alleged mistake caused the specific harm (not just coincided with it)
- whether medical records support the timeline you believe happened
- how convincingly experts explain causation to a jury or judge
In other words, a “rough range” isn’t the same thing as what an insurer is willing to pay once liability and causation are actually tested.
