Most online tools work by taking a few inputs—like injury severity, treatment duration, and medical bills—and generating an estimated range. That can feel reassuring when you’re trying to plan.
However, calculators generally cannot reflect the specific facts that matter most in real Ohio medical negligence disputes, such as:
- Whether the provider’s conduct fell below the standard of care for the situation
- Whether that conduct caused your harm (not just happened around the same time)
- Whether your medical record supports a clear timeline of what was known, when it was known, and what was done
- How your injury changed your day-to-day life and future needs
In practice, two people can enter the same calculator and receive similar “ranges,” while their cases value very differently once experts review records and the defense challenges causation.
