Many calculators generate broad ranges using simplified inputs (like injury severity or medical bills). In Imperial, the “real-life” differences that often matter include:
- Delay in getting specialized care: Rural access and scheduling gaps can complicate causation and documentation.
- Work and transportation strain: Lost wages and travel/childcare expenses are common, but they’re not captured well by generic tools.
- Multiple providers: Injuries may involve urgent care, follow-up appointments, and referrals—making the timeline critical.
A calculator may tell you what some cases resemble. It can’t tell you what your records show, whether experts support the theory of negligence, or how the defense will frame alternative explanations.
